Sorry, I'm a couple days late on this. I was actually surfing through our new affiliate's website (El Mundo de Alagaesia) when I found this!
Random House Australia's official Brisingr website has been given a rather dashing makeover. The new website features plenty of cool new features including wallpapers, a countdown widget as well as an excerpt from Brisingr. I'd also like to point out that they were very, very, very kind enough to place a link to our website on their "Links" page. Thank you Random House AU! You can check out the new site by clicking here.
Also, they weren't the only ones to get a new site change. Our new main site has been completely revamped! Enjoy! ;D

In an attempt to get more MVM's, we have a couple more opportunities for more people to be graced with the secret forums!
First off is a game that will last until next Friday. It is in the Game Corner, and I'm not going to go into details on how to play, as it takes some time to go over the rules, etc. It should be fun, if anything. Find it here: http://forums.brisingr.net/showthread.php?tid=279
And, I'm sure some members will be excited to know that I did finally put up a new Easter Egg. It's somewhere either on the main site or forum, I ain't saying and I'm only giving this ONE hint - no more. Hint: "Dumb time...."
Also, congrats to TunaGunner who was recently promoted to MVM status! Follow his great example and you could be promoted someday too!
(And before people ask, yes you may enter the contest and hunt for the Easter egg if you are already an MVM. You'd be promoted to Level 2 if you were to win).
Shurt'ugal recently announced its partnership with the widely known Borders Book Store. For those of you who don't know, Borders enjoys running an online "show" of sorts where fans of a certain book series come together and discuss what may or may not happen in the next book in such a series. Borders calls these their Book Clubs. Best known are those of JK Rowling's Harry Potter as well as Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga. Now, as September 20th crawls around the corner, Borders is doing yet another Book Club, this one on Brisingr.
Shurt'ugal and Borders are calling fans to join discussion with Christopher Paolini. Participants will be filmed by a professional camera crew and will eventually make their online debut on the Border's website. It will be located at Chelsea, MI, near Ann Arbor on Friday, August 22nd. Below are a list of the requirements that Shurt'ugal has provided:
Quote:- Participants should be chatty, comfortable in a group setting, comfortable with the idea of sharing his or her viewpoint and ideas with the author in front of others, and also comfortable with the idea of conducting this group discussion on camera
- All participants will be required to sign a release form allowing Borders to use their likeness as part of the program
- Participants under the age of 18 will have to have their parents or legal guardian sign a release form and accompany them to the shoot (Please make sure you check with your parents before you pursue this!)
- All participants are responsible for paying for their own travel expenses
If you're interested contact them at: shurtugalandborders@gmail.com
Let me just say that I've seen these Book Club discussions before and even know a couple people who have taken part in them (specifically the Harry Potter discussion), and they can be fun. It all seems very relaxed and entertaining. It's a great way to get your voice heard in the Inheritance fandom!

Christopher Paolini sent out a new newsletter just a couple of hours ago. In it, he briefly mentions a new interview he had with his editor that will be included in the audio book of Brisingr. And speaking of that audio book, Chris also caught up with Gerald Doyle, the narrator of the books and even ventured down to get some chocolate and a sword.
Also interesting to point out is that Christopher acknowledged the Australian medallion contest that we told you about a while back!
But the biggest news is the announcement of the Brisingr tour. Christopher Paolini will be traveling to several stops in America and Canada. The list is below, but you can check it out on the official site as well by clicking here.

So, the developers of MyBB have finally released the much anticipated MyBB 1.4 (or at l;east it's been anticipated by those who run forums all over the internet). Now, there WILL be some glitches guaranteed. With all new software, there will always be bugs. Also, the glitch on the Main Page has since been fixed, although the images don't show up so we're working on that.
So, what's new?
First off, check out the Reply page, as it has a sleek new Office 2007 Look! Notice how all of the user info is on the top of each post? You can change that to make it back to the side in your User CP (In your options). Speaking of User CP, its all new! And there's an editor available for when you do your signature. Among revamped things are the member list and buddy list - and LOADS more that I can't even begin to list. I don't even know everything, all I can say is that it really is cool. Some of the stuff is explained here (although a lot of the stuff is admin things): http://mybboard.net/features/feature-tour
Annnd. Remember how we said that ranks can be given through your post count? We can now do that, so we'll plan out a new ranking system (yes with some new names rather than Junior Member, etc) that will allow you to move up ranks and even get MVM status through your post count or even your reputation. I still have yet to learn how it works, btu I will soon so we can use it!
And sometime this week should be a nice new countdown on the front page!
That's about it and enjoy!
(Oh, did I mention that you can now FINALLY log out?)
Edit: The chat is no longer compatible with these new forums. I'm assuming that a new update for the chat room will be available soon, but I can't say when. Sorry.
